Our signature programme, now to share
FrenchUp Duo & Trio
The shared format of our structured FrenchUp programme
Whether you are a couple, friends, relatives or colleagues, FrenchUp Duo & Trio allows you to share the same 30-hour FrenchUp programme: a clear learning path, a dedicated teacher, practical content for real life in Paris, and continuous pedagogical coordination.
Duo & Trio is not a standard group class. It is FrenchUp designed for two or three learners who already know each other, have a similar level and shared learning objectives, and want to progress together with structure, motivation and consistency.
“What I love about Duo & Trio is seeing learners support each other and grow together. The structure of FrenchUp remains the same, but the learning journey becomes even more interactive, motivating and shared.”
Fabienne, Programme leader
A shared FrenchUp journey for everyday life in Paris
French is now part of your daily life in Paris: at the bakery, at your children’s school, during meetings, or over lunch with colleagues.
You want to gradually expand your comfort zone, understand more of what is happening around you, and take part in conversations with greater confidence.
FrenchUp was designed for exactly that: helping expats in Paris progress through a structured 30-hour programme focused on real-life communication, cultural understanding and practical confidence.
With Duo & Trio, this same FrenchUp experience becomes a shared journey for two or three learners who already know each other and want to progress together.
And we know how to make it work. With over 1270 hours of Duo & Trio already taught, we have refined the format to preserve the structure, focus and personalisation of FrenchUp while making the most of the energy of learning together.
Apply & Book a CallEverything that makes FrenchUp effective
FrenchUp Duo & Trio follows the same 30-hour programme as our 1-on-1 format. The structure, learning objectives, pedagogical support and learning resources remain exactly the same.
The only difference is that you share the journey with one or two people you already know.
As a Duo or Trio participant, you benefit from:
- a dedicated French teacher and a structured learning path,
- practical content designed around everyday life in Paris,
- ongoing pedagogical coordination throughout the programme,
- sessions planned around your shared availability, in person or online,
- access to Slack and Neo to continue learning between sessions.
FrenchUp is designed to help learners build lasting confidence in French and make meaningful progress over time. Historically, many participants complete around half to one CEFR level over the course of a 30-hour programme(1), depending on their starting point, engagement and learning goals.

What Duo & Trio adds to the FrenchUp experience
FrenchUp Duo & Trio combines the structure of FrenchUp with the added benefits of learning alongside people you already know.
-
Shared motivation
Learning with a partner, friend or colleague often makes it easier to stay committed over time and keep French part of your routine. -
Learn from each other
Your learning is enriched by other perspectives, questions and discoveries, often leading to valuable conversations that would not happen in a 1-on-1 format. -
More natural interactions
Many real-life situations involve more than two people. Duo & Trio naturally creates opportunities for richer conversations, role-plays and communication practice. -
A shared experience
Progress, challenges and successes become something you experience together, creating a more social and engaging learning journey. -
Excellent value
Because the programme is shared, the investment per learner is lower while preserving the structure, support and quality of FrenchUp.
Choosing the right learning partner
Duo & Trio works best when you learn with someone you already know well: a spouse, partner, friend, relative or colleague.
Learning French together means sharing progress, questions, mistakes and moments of hesitation. That's why choosing the right learning partner matters.
-
You should feel comfortable learning in front of each other: making mistakes, trying new things and receiving feedback.
-
You should share a similar level of commitment: motivation, consistency and regular practice.
-
Your learning goals should be compatible: everyday life in Paris, professional interactions, family life, naturalisation, or a combination of these.
To ensure the programme works well for everyone:
-
participants should have a similar level of French
-
they should have aligned availability (same days and times) so that sessions can be scheduled regularly
-
there should be no direct hierarchical relationship (learning works best when everyone feels free to speak)
FrenchUp Duo & Trio pricing

FAQ
Your questions answered
Yes. FrenchUp Duo & Trio is designed for two or three learners who already know each other and want to learn together. It is particularly popular with couples, friends, relatives and colleagues living in Paris.
Participants should have a similar level of French (within one CEFR level difference) and compatible learning objectives so they can follow the same FrenchUp programme together.
FrenchUp Duo & Trio is designed for just two or three learners who already know each other. Unlike regular group classes, you are not one learner among many: you get plenty of speaking time, personalised feedback, and a programme built around your shared level, goals and everyday situations in Paris.
You also benefit from the full FrenchUp structure: a dedicated teacher, ongoing pedagogical coordination, and access to Neo & Slack between sessions.
Yes, participants should have comparable French levels (within one CEFR level difference) so that everyone progresses smoothly. During your consultation, we'll assess your French to make sure it's a good match.
No problem. All programme resources, activities and learning materials remain available on Neo, so it is easy to review what was covered and stay on track.
FrenchUp Duo & Trio is designed as a shared learning journey, so participants normally progress through the programme together.
If one participant needs to stop, we will review the situation with you and discuss the most appropriate solution. Depending on the circumstances, it may be possible to continue in another format.
Sessions can take place at your home, workplace, a café, another suitable location in Paris or online. We will help you find the format that best fits your situation.
Yes. Just like all FrenchUp participants, you benefit from access to Neo for learning activities and resources between sessions, as well as Slack for communication and programme coordination.
Start by completing the application form. We will then organise a short admission call to discuss your objectives, availability and French level.
If Duo & Trio appears to be the right fit, we will design your FrenchUp program and prepare the next steps together.
We usually recommend allowing at least 7 days between your admission interview and the first session, so we have time to prepare your FrenchUp program and coordinate with your teacher. If your course is funded through Mon Compte Formation, please allow a minimum of 11 working days between your application and the start of your training, as required by the platform's processing timeline.
FrenchUp Duo & Trio is designed for people who already know each other and share compatible objectives. For this reason, we do not create Duo or Trio groups by matching individual applicants together.
If you are applying alone, 1-on-1 FrenchUp is usually the most suitable option.
